ASHTANGA LED CLASSES

beginners, half primary & full primary

In a led class the teacher guides the entire group through the sequence at the same pace, following the traditional counted sequence of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga.

Primary series is the foundational practice of Ashtanga Yoga. It has 48 poses, with a very wide range of movements. It’s important to learn it slowly, a little at a time.

ASHTANGA BEGINNERS
Mondays & Wednesdays 5-6pm and Sundays 10am.

This class includes the Sun Salutes, some asanas of the standing sequence, a short finishing sequence and chanting of the opening & closing mantras.
All levels are welcomed.

HALF PRIMARY
Fridays 5:30pm

This class includes the 1st half of the Primary Series, full Finishing sequence & the chanting of the opening & closing mantras.
All levels are welcomed.

FULL PRIMARY & PRANAYAMA
Saturdays, from 9 to 11am

In this class you will be led through the complete sequence, followed by a 40min intermediate pranayama session.
A solid asana practice is highly recommended.

Ashtanga led classes are dynamic; they combine strength & flexibility with movement, bandhas and breath to produce an energetic and detoxifying practice.

They are an opportunity to learn the counts of the sequence & feel the energy of the group.

Please let the teacher know (before the start of the class) if you are new to this practice and/or if you have any injuries.

All levels are welcomed. Complete Beginners are recommended to start with the Ashtanga Intro course, Ashtanga Beginners classes or Mysore practice.
